Light Optics
This unit introduces students to the fundamental behavior of light and how it interacts with the physical world and human perception. Students will explore how light travels, reflects off plane and curved mirrors, and refracts through different types of lenses. They will also investigate the wave-like properties of light to understand color addition, dispersion, and the rainbow spectrum. Finally, students will apply these principles to biology and technology by examining how the human eye focuses light, how vision conditions are corrected, and how optical instruments function. Throughout the unit, clear visual representations, ray diagrams, and targeted vocabulary building will help students master key physics concepts and academic English simultaneously.

Objective:
Students will be able to describe how light enters the human eye to form images, and explain how common vision issues (nearsightedness and farsightedness) are corrected using corrective lenses.
